Venue: Seminar Hall Date: 11th August Time: 5:00 PM Farewell Ceremony for Dipti Patil, HOD of COMPS DeptmentToday was Prof. Dipti Patil’s last day as the HOD of COMPS department. On this occasion students from SE COMPS held a small ceremony. All COMPS professors were invited for the ceremony. Pritesh Desai, Dipti madam’s favorite student gave a ‘moving speech’ at the end of which Prof. Dipti couldn’t hold back her tears. Pritesh recounted his personal experiences with the HOD. Saurabh Mhatre, who took part in this year’s Indian Idol, sang a beautiful song. Dipti madam consoled students who had KTs in the last board exams and advised them to study well for the current and final year. She urged students to respect their superiors. On a final note she said always treated her students like her kids and should they ever face any problem they could always contact her. Dipti madam will be leaving for MIT, Pune.
SE COMPS' Day OutSE COMPS students went to the famous 'Jivdani Temple' situated in Virar.
The goddess Jivdani Mata is believed as an avatar of Adi Shakti Devi. Jivdani Mata's temple is situated on a hill that has around 1375 steps. This hill also offers a very picturesque view of Virar and its vicinity. During the nine days of the Navratri festival many followers visit the shrine, and devotees also tend to visit on Tuesdays and Sundays.

![]() Opus 2010Opus 2010 was conducted successfully on 16th April 2010. The event went on from 10 to 5 PM after much deliberation the judges decided upon the winners. The 3rd prize was won by 'Cataract Detection' project, the group is from BE-IT from VCET. The second prize was won by 'My Library' application. The group had used various APIs to make this application. he winner of Opus 2010 was a GSM device which aims to make driving safer. |
